Cranio-Sacral Therapy

Pain and tension in the jaw can be a result of various factors, including hypertensive muscles in the shoulders, neck, and head or structural dysfunction. This 60 minute session includes a comprehensive intake to determine the suspected cause of headaches or jaw tension and pain, trigger point therapy, massage, and fascial release to soft tissue of the shoulders, neck and head. Intra-oral jaw work can be an added technique to release deep muscles that control jaw movement. The relief of tension and pain from this session can be immense, and is indicated for those with TMJD (temporomandibular joint dysfunction) or occupational postural stress (prolonged desk work).

During pregnancy, massage helps to reverse the effects of physical and mental fatigue, while also improving circulation, decreasing stress in weight-bearing joints, and lessening pain in the muscles of the lower back, shoulders, neck, and calves. Techniques used ensure a healthier pregnancy, create a more restful mind and body, and prepare the body for the birthing process itself.

Cranio-Sacral Therapy is a light touch approach to bodywork that enhances the body’s own healing capabilities. Working with the central nervous system allows the body to relax and self-correct. This treatment is great for those in a high stress state after trauma, and can create dramatic improvements in physical and mental wellness.

This treatment is indicated for the following conditions:

Autism, brain injury, central nervous system disorders, chronic fatigue, colic, concussion, fibromyalgia, immune disorders, migraines, neck pain, post-traumatic stress, spinal cord injury, chronic stress/anxiety.

Note: this is not massage, but light touch to specific points along the spine. Clients remain fully clothed on the treatment table.

Chinese Cupping

Cupping is an ancient Chinese method of clearing local congestion. A partial vacuum is created when cups are placed on the skin, either by means of heat or suction. This vacuum draws up the underlying tissues, increasing local circulation and releasing fascial restrictions. Chinese cupping can be added to any session at Action Dynamix free of charge.
