La Stone massage is a form of hydrotherapy combining the use of hot river rock and cold marble.  The treatment alternates the use of hot stones for massage, followed by cold marble, and repeated again with hot stones.  The combination of hot and cold creates a “vascular gymnastics” in the circulatory system to help the body detoxify and heal.  The hot stones expand the blood vessels, which  has a sedative effect on the nervous system.  The cold marble cause the blood vessels to constrict, stimulating the nervous system.  This ensures that every cell in the body receives more oxygen and nutrients while at the same time toxins are being removed more effectively.
